Getting pinky with it

I have no idea where that title came from, but that should provide some pretty good insight into my current mood :) Things have been a bit nutso these past couple weeks, but I took some time to create this morning - trust me, I needed the therapy!

I have a couple friends who are expecting, and I know at least 2 of them will be welcoming little girls. I used this week's Mojo sketch as my starting point, pulled out some BasicGrey paper (Euphoria collection) and this card is the final result. I love to use this verse for baby cards, and the font on this stamp (Whipper Snapper) is particularly fun. The final touch was some layered primas, topped with a pink rhinestone.

I wanted to make another card, and I was dying to use these beautiful Christine Adolph papers. They're 12x12, but most have strips or panels so can be easily cut down to card size. The background paper is foiled, so is absolutely stunning IRL. I accented it with a small strip of ledger type paper (wiped down with old paper distress ink), then tied on some organdy ribobn for the finishing touch. The inside reads "May your day be steeped in joy and warmed by love." (smARTworks) Very simple, but I love the elegant result.

Well, therapy time is over - have a wonderful weekend!!

Tea Time!

Ready for a couple more "trio" creations? These cards feature the Teapot set and sentiments from Cup of Tea.

On this first one, the teapot was stamped with Palette toile pink, Versamagic pink grapefruit , and SU cameo coral ink. For the background panel, I embossed coral cardstock with the Fiskars lace plate, then swiped it with some white ink to really bring out the design. I wrapped that with some white lace from my stash, and then stamped the sentiment onto a scrap of patterned paper. Isn't that a great saying?

For this card, I created teapot paper using SU apricot appeal & orange inks; I didn't use the solid base image on this. I let the teabag that I had dictate the colors on this one :) For the pocket, I just took a scrap of heavyweight vellum and wrapped it around the teabag to form a pocket, then stamped and mounted it to the card. Quite simple, but I thought it was a nice way to pass along a little "extra" with the card.

In other news, I'm thrilled to say that the smART Cookie Tea Parties will be starting back up again! We'll be making a few changes, and would love for others to join in the party. Dina will be our first hostess, so be watching her blog for the first announcement. Can't wait!!

Time for Tea!

I must admit that I'm actually not much of a tea drinker - only fruity herbal stuff (with lemon and sugar, too) please! But I still love the idea of tea time... and this Teapot Trio is absolutely adorable!

I stamped the teapot with palette seascape (which is a very light color indeed!), brilliance pearlescent sky blue, and versamagic sahara sand. I added the sentiment (versafine sepia), then matted the panel and dirtied it up a bit with Distress Old Paper. I then layered it with papers from the BasicGrey LilyKate collection. Love the soft, soothing colors!
